Around 40 residents ventured out on a chilly night last Wednesday to attend the official opening of the new Marulan Rural Fire Brigade’s new kitchen. The Veolia Mulwaree Trust was pleased to provide the Marulan Rural Fire Brigade with a grant of $16,000 toward the new kitchen at the station. Trust Chairman Paul Stephenson attended the official opening along with Federal Member for Hume Alby Schultz and Goulburn Mulwaree Councillor Geoff Kettle, as well as brigade members and many local residents. Mr Stephenson said the new kitchen was a vast improvement on the small and ineffective old kitchen and the new work, much of which was carried out by volunteers, was a credit to the Brigade. He said catering supplied through the new catering facility would support the brigade which attends bushfires as well as local road accidents.  He praised the many volunteers who gave their time to assist in the development of the new community facility.
