The Gunning and District Tennis Association chose a perfect Spring day for the official opening of their tennis courts on September 19. The four newly-laid synthetic surfaces are being well used by the local community. The project was a joint initiative funded by the Veolia Mulwaree Trust, Upper Lachlan Shire Council and the Gunning and District Tennis Club. Those attending the official opening included, from left, Upper Lachlan Shire Council Mayor John Shaw, Organising secretary Graham Baines, Veolia Mulwaree Trust Chairman Paul Stephenson, former Tennis Club President Stan Medway, Trustee John Reynolds, President Beth Baines, Secretary David Roche, and Treasurer Jenny Medway and her son Lachlan.
