Conservation of St Saviour’s Peal Board

The St Saviour’s Cathedral Bell Ringers in Goulburn were the recipients of a $2,000 grant which helped to fund the conservation of the historic Peal Board.

Tower Keeper, Mr Ray Smith, wrote that “the Peal Board is an historic, heritage item and is priceless, since it commemorates the First Peal rung on the first eight bells, (acquired from St Marks, Leicester), in 1872. It forms an important part of the historic items available for display on educational tours of the Bell Tower of St Saviour’s”.
