21 groups share in latest Trust funding

The Veolia Mulwaree Trust distributed ten grants and 11 donations to local not-for-profit community organisations in its final funding round of 2010.

The funding will go toward a wide range of community projects which will benefit groups from across all the council areas covered by the Veolia Mulwaree Trust region, including Goulburn Mulwaree, Oberon, Upper Lachlan, Shoalhaven, Palerang, Wollondilly and Wingecarribee Shire Council areas. Projects to be funded include:

 $50,000 to the Oberon Council towards the Oberon Tennis Centre Upgrade, which will include the extension of the existing two-court indoor tennis complex and enclosure of the two adjacent courts to create an indoor multi-purpose community sport and recreation facility.

 $24,000 to the Goulburn Tennis Club for the resurfacing of the two last remaining granite courts, to complete the ten synthetic court tennis complex. 

 $17,730 to provide new spectator seating at the Braidwood Showground, a project undertaken by the Braidwood Rodeo Club, to benefit all users of the facility.

 $3,894 to the St Matthews Church Bannaby to complete a local history project at the St Matthews Church cemetery.

 $5,052 to the Taralga Rugby Union Club Inc to provide additional floodlights at the Taralga sports field located at the Taralga Showground.

 $6,361 to the Crookwell Preschool to provide a water tank and interactive garden for the children.

 $4,670 to the Tirranna Public School P&C to provide new playground seating for students.

 $20,537 to the Culburra Beach – Orient Point RSL Sub-Branch, to construct the new Culburra Beach Memorial Park in conjunction with Shoalhaven City Council. The project will include a war memorials in the form of a series of walls, a public gathering area, seating and landscaped native gardens.

 $3,000 to the St Stephens Uniting Church Marulan to provide new kitchen facilities in the church hall.

 $5,690 to the Braidwood Polocrosse Club to construct four new polocrosse playing fields at the Braidwood Showgrounds.                                        

Donations totalling $10,800 were shared among the following organisations: Goulburn Mulwaree Youth Council, the Wollondilly Disability Access Committee, the Rodmell Fund for Aged Care Nurse Education Inc, the Goulburn Mulwaree Mayoral Charity Golf Day Committee, Shoalhaven Heads Red Cross Branch, the Picton Uniting Church, WIRES (Wildlife Information Rescue & Education Service) Goulburn Branch, Lady Denman Heritage Complex Huskisson Inc, the Goulburn Rodeo Club, the Big Hill Uniting Church and the Goulburn Triathlon Club.

Applications for the next round of Veolia Mulwaree Trust funding are now open. Applications close of February 16 2011.
