Friends of the Oberon Library help visually impaired read again
The Friends of the Oberon Library group has purchased five reading navigators thanks to a $6600 grant from the Veolia Mulwaree Trust. The reading navigators, pictured in use on the left, are portable and simple-to-use devices. The Oberon Library can now satisfy the needs, and enhance the quality of life , of community members who would not otherwise have the opportunity to enjoy reading.
Kathy Sajowitz from the Friends of the Oberon Library said “the demand from visually impaired borrowers has been strong and the benefit to these clients immeasurable, as they can now once again access and enjoy books despite their impairments”.
