St Matthews, Bannaby History Restored

Jun 9, 2011 by

The ongoing restoration program at St Matthews Church Bannaby received a boost when Veolia Mulwaree Trust provided funding of $3,139 for a project to erect plaques on 22 previously unmarked graves.

The project began with the location and identification of the unmarked graves.  The graveyard plan and records were updated, which will allow graves to be more easily located.  The bronze plaques were erected and a special service was held on Sunday 27 March, 2011 to dedicate the plaques and commemorate those buried in the newly identified graves.

The Trust congratulated the hard-working committee's ongoing efforts to restore the 112-year old church and its surrounds.
