The Southern Highlands Sailing Club have used a $1000 donation from the Veolia Mulwaree Trust and their own fundraising efforts to purchase equipment and complete a number of maintenance tasks.

Secretary, Phillip Wales, said “major repairs were able to be carried out on the old rescue boat making it a lot safer and more reliable for our volunteer rescue personnel. New fuel containers were purchased for the boat. Fantastic new race marker bouys have been purchased and modified for our requirements. New boat fenders were also purchased for our small rescue boat jetty.

“All rescue boat personnel have commented on how fantastic and how much safer the rescue boat is to operate now,” Mr Wales said. “All members have commented on how easy it is to see the new race markers plus how much safer it makes the races and events that we hold.”
