24 new grants and donations from Trust

Twenty four organisations have been successful in their recent applications to the Veolia Mulwaree Trust Community Grant and Donation Program. A total of $119,421 in grants and funding was distributed by the Trust at its last meeting. Eleven groups received grants in the latest funding round, including:

Bowral High School will receive a grant of $19,812 toward its Outdoor Classroom and Student Walkway Project which will convert a covered area to an outdoor study space for students. The project also includes new outdoor furniture and new wireless internet access points.

The Shoalhaven Mariners Baseball Association will undertake its Shoalhaven Baseball Field of Dreams Project to establish the playing diamond, outfield, safety back net and perimeter fencing at Ison Park in Nowra following a $14,000 grant from the Trust. The project will be carried out in conjunction with Shoalhaven City Council.

Mittagong Public School will install curtains at the stage at its school hall with a grant of $14,453 from the Trust. The hall is used by a range of local community groups and the grant will complete the Mittagong Parent and Friend Committee’s five year upgrade of the school’s hall.

St John’s Anglican Church at Moss Vale will install a new children’s playground in its grounds. The project is being funded by the Church, NSW Government and Veolia Mulwaree Trust through a grant of $5646.

Buxton Public School will undertake a Focus on Reading Initiative for classes from kindergarten to year six. The Trust has contributed with a grant of $5,560 to assist the school to purchase literary resources.

Upper Lachlan Shire Council was successful in applying for a $8,845 grant towards its Taralga Sports Oval Flood Lighting Project. This project is an initiative jointly funded by the Taralga Hockey and Touch Football Clubs, NSW Department of Sport and Recreation, Upper Lachlan Shire Council and the Veolia Mulwaree Trust.

New toilet and shower facilities will be constructed at the Taralga Rural Fire Service which will receive Trust funding of $11,635 toward the project at its premises in Orchard Street.

The Crookwell and District Art Gallery will undertake its Upgrade of Art Gallery Infrastructure Project to install a new lighting system and display screens. The Veolia Mulwaree Trust will contribute by providing a grant of $4,125.


Collector Public School’s senior classroom will have a new interactive white board installed with the Trust providing a grant of $7,404 to the school.

The hall at St Luke’s Anglican Church Berry will have a new public address system and video link installed, partly funded by a Trust grant of $5,850.

The community multi-purpose hall located at Bungendore Public School will have a new screen and projector installed linked to the existing audio system under the school’s Audio Visual Installation project. The Trust approved the Bungendore Public School P and C Association’s application for $9,091.

The Veolia Mulwaree Trust looks forward to working with these community organisations over the coming months toward the successful completion of their projects.

The following 15 organisations have been successful under the Veolia Mulwaree Trust donation program:

Birdlife Southern Highlands – $1000 to purchase equipment for a data base and digital projector.

Ulladulla and District Garden Club Inc – $1000 to purchase folding tables and chairs and a marquee.

Marulan and District Lions Club Inc – $1000 to assist with purchasing 50 new chairs for the Marulan Hall.

Slice of Life Australia, Nowra – $1000 to upgrade and replace basic kitchen equipment.

St Georges Basin School – $1000 to purchase a greenhouse to propagate plants for the community garden.

Community Technology Centre Ulladulla Inc – $1000 to purchase 23 new computer chairs.

Sussex Inlet Pony Club – $1000 to purchase new pony club equipment.

Gunning and District Chamber of Commerce Inc – $1000 to erect signs at sites of heritage interest in the Gunning and Dalton area.

Marulan Region Chamber of Commerce – $1000 to purchase a transportable dais for use at events, festivals and at the Marulan Hall.

Nerriga District Riders Club – $1000 to purchase items of equipment.

Kids in Care Support Inc Goulburn – $1000 to purchase equipment including sporting, BBQ and trailer.

1st Bowral Scout Group – $1000 to purchase outdoor equipment including camping, canoeing and bushwalking.

Oberon Children’s Centre – $1000 to purchase new bicycles and mobile play equipment.
