Lighting Gray Park webLighting has now been installed at Gray Park in Taralga to allow better use of the recreation facility.

The various sporting organisations from Taralga and the surrounding areas can now enjoy their sports all year round, particularly in winter when the days are shorter. Upper Lachlan Shire Council received a Veolia Mulwaree Trust grant of $9,729 towards their $50,000 lighting facility project.  Other groups including the local hockey and touch football clubs, NSW Department of Sport and Recreation and Council all contributed financially to the project.

The project included the erection of two poles and the placement of six flood lights to provide for the extended use of the facility. In the past, residents were unable to play sports and organise recreational activities when experiencing the shorter days of winter. Now they can safely play their respective sports and have ample time for all users to benefit from the facility.

Luke Moloney, Manager of Operations at Upper Lachlan Shire Council, said the community of Taralga will benefit immensely from this project. Gray Parking opening web

“They can now play sport in the evening all year round. Now with longer operating hours at Gray Park, more sporting groups and members of the community have sufficient time to utilise the facility,” Mr Moloney said.
