More funding for community projects

Bundanoon Mens Shed VMT presentation 2013 webThe Veolia Mulwaree Trust has announced funding to 21 local organisations for a range of projects to benefit the community. The Trust distributed $107,743 in its latest round of community grant and donation funding program. Eight community organisations received grants in the latest funding round:

Warrigal Care Bundanoon will receive a grant of $20,000 for its wheelchair-adaptable bus project which will allow residents access to better transport and enable them to participate in social activities and maintain networks within the community.

Oberon Golf Club will receive $22,587 toward its project which involves upgrading the Oberon Golf Club and former Scout Hall buildings as a hub for community activities and events.

St Georges Basin Health and Community Transport Service will receive $10,000 for its project to purchase a new mini bus. The vehicle will be in use five days a week providing transport to disadvantaged senior residents for medical appointments and other activities.

Bundanoon Men’s Shed will receive $23,993 which will enable members to complete the complete stage two of their building and fit out of the men’s shed. Friends of the Brush-tailed Rock-wallaby Inc in Kangaroo Valley will receive funding of $6636 to purchase equipment for use in research, breeding and land management for the protection of the Brush-tailed Rock-wallaby.

Gumnut Memorial Preschool in Bowral will receive $5198 to install new rubber soft fall materi

al in its children’s playground.

Marulan CWA will receive $3447 to renovate and refurbish Marulan CWA Rooms where a range of community activities are held.

The Bungendore School of Arts 355 Committee will receive $2915 for its project to design, construct and install a new servery in the School of Arts to complete the kitchen renewal project.

The Veolia Mulwaree Trust looks forward to working with these community organisations over the coming months toward the successful completion of their projects.

The following 13 organisations have been successful under the Veolia Mulwaree Trust donation program: 

St Vincent de Paul Society Goulburn – $1000 to provide assistance to the needy in the Goulburn Mulwaree area, particularly emergency food items.

St Mary’s Catholic School, Crookwell – $1000 to help purchase an FM hearing system to support students with hearing difficulties.

Warragamba Netball Club – $1000 to upgrade equipment and install new bench seating.

Captains Flat Telegraph Inc – $1000 for support in the production of the local community newspaper.

Wingecarribee Food Services Co-op Ltd – $967 to purchase new equipment to assist in meal preparation for the Meals On Wheels service.

St John’sBolong Anglican Church – $1000 to purchase four new heaters for the church.

Bundanoon Community Association Inc – $1000 to fund the community garden shade house and expand the community garden.

Rodmell Fund for Aged Care Nursing Education (Bowral) – $1000 to assist with improving nursing standards and professional education.

Marulan District Historical Society – $1000 to purchase museum collection management software.

Bungendore CWA – $1000 to install new carpet in the CWA meeting rooms.

Riversdale, National Trust, Goulburn – $1000 to purchase equipment to undertake pest treatment of historical objects.

Two Fires Festival Braidwood – $1000 to assist in the hosting of the bi-annual Two Fires Festival.

Goulburn Stags Football (Soccer) Club – $1000 to purchase specialised coaching equipment to assist in training junior players.
