Southern Highlands Domestic Violence Forum project

Jun 24, 2013 by

The Southern Highlands Domestic Violence Forum received a donation of $990 from the Veolia Mulwaree Trust which will assist with training and delivery of the extremely successful school based family violence and sexual assault prevention program. The program facilitators, who are volunteers from support agencies, will benefit from the donation by being trained in the prevention program, and then will also benefit by being able to educate other staff and service providers in the area on the issues of Healthy Relationships and Sexual Assault.

Facilitators who trained in 2011 include representatives form NSW Police, YWCA NSW, Highlands Community Centres Inc, Highlands Youth and Family Services, Moss Vale High School, Bowral High School, Health-South Western Sydney Local Health District and Family and Community Services.

High School students within the Wingecarribee Shire will benefit immensely with the introduction of the LOVE BiTES program as the program targets the current issues surrounding Healthy Relationships and Sexual Assault.
