Waterboard Oval ribbon cuttingA new amenities building containing toilets, a canteen, storage and awning area has been constructed at Waterboard Oval in Warragamba by Wollondilly Shire Council.

The building is located at Waterboard Oval, Warragamba. There were previously no sporting amenities at the site and the new building provides safe and practical access for users adjacent to the playing fields.

Council's Facilities and Recreation Planner, Robert Szoszkiewicz, said the area now had a modern facility which provides accessibility to all users, is safe and practical and featured a canteen, good overall storage, accessible toilets and a large sheltered area for spectators.

The facilities were officially opened by Wollondilly mayor Col Mitchell, Wollondilly MP Jai Rowell, Veolia Mulwaree Trust chairman, Paul Stephenson OAM and Warradale Soccer club secretary, Neville Slender. The $250,000 project was funded by Wollondilly Shire Council, with the Veolia Mulwaree Trust contributing $70,000 and input from the state government and Warradale Soccer Club, which raised $30,000 through its own fundraising efforts.
