St Georges Basin Community TransportThe St Georges Basin Health and Community Transport Service held a morning tea on Saturday 19 October to celebrate the purchase of a new Mercedes-Benz Valente transport vehicle.

Along with their own fund raising efforts, the purchase of the client transport vehicle was made possible by funding assistance of $10,000 from the Veolia Mulwaree Trust, Huskisson RSL Club and St Georges Basin Country Club.

The new bus enables St Georges Basin Health and Community Transport Service to continue transporting residents of the Bay and Basin Area five days a week. The service enables clients to access a range of medical appointments, hospital transfers for medical procedures and visiting spouses in hospital or nursing homes.

Along with St Georges Basin Health and Community Transport Service staff and many delighted residents of the Bay and Basin areas, the morning tea was attended by Huskisson RSL Vice President Shirl Rundell, Veolia Mulwaree Trust’s Chairman Paul Stephenson and St Georges Basin Country Club president Mel Cottrell.
