pixi-208x300Shoalhaven Kids in Need have used a donation of $1000 from the Veolia Mulwaree Trust to contribute towards the cost of a Pixi Push Chair for an eight year old girl who has a moderate intellectual disability, autism and epilepsy.

The Push Chair is compact enough for her family to take both the Push Chair and stroller for the younger siblings, meaning they can all go out as a family.

The secretary of Shoalhaven Kids in Need, Ms Kerrie Smith, said last week they went on a family picnic as the compact Push Chair created enough space in the vehicle to pack additional items as well (picnic blanket, balls, cricket bats and lunch for all). The family report the stroller has enabled them to on weekend outings with all five children in reasonable comfort. The child has four siblings – one older and three younger.

It has given the family the opportunity to enjoy each other’s company outside of the family home and has increased the child’s access to the community. The family have expressed their gratitude for the donation and are very happy with the positive impact the donation has had on their family’s life, Ms Smith said.
