IMG_8765A Veolia Mulwaree Trust grant of $24,385 has assisted the Braidwood Tennis Club to re-surface two of their four courts.

The total cost of the court upgrades was $65,000 with the Club successfully sourcing funds from various organisations including the Trust’s grant.  The Braidwood Tennis Club contributed the remaining $8000 through tireless fundraising efforts by club members.

“I believe that this project has re-invigorated the Braidwood community to continue to participate in tennis and will encourage new membership”. Ms Jenny Daniher, Club Fundraising Coordinator said. “The physical and mental health benefits of this will flow through the Braidwood community in a positive manner”.

Club President, Mr Nicholas Fry said, “It is terrific to see many new faces on the courts enjoying the spring/summer competition, there has been a noticeble increase in playing on the revamped surfaces”.

The courts run weekly junior coaching sessions, social and competition tennis and are available for community hire.

The Veolia Mulwaree Trust is proud to assist the Braidwood Tennis Club with this valuable community project.
