Sanctuary Point Men’s Shed – Safety First

Sanctuary Point men's shed websiteMembers of Sanctuary Point Men’s Shed are working with safety in mind thanks to the assistance of a Veolia Mulwaree Trust grant of $2000.

The grant funds enabled the Men’s Shed to purchase first aid and safety equipment for use by its members.

“Our shed has always had an excellent work safety record but it wasn’t until we purchased the equipment that we realised how unprepared our shed was” Men’s Shed Secretary, Mr Michael Flannery said, “Now new and old members are getting used to wearing ear muffs, dust masks and gloves and we are much more in tune with other aspects of safety”.

Over the past few months the Shed has gone on to improve trip hazards, electrical supply and simply keeping the shed orderly and tidy.

“We thank the Trust for the grant gift and for what has evolved for our Shed from the gift.” Mr Flannery added.

The Veolia Mulwaree Trust is proud to assist the Sanctuary Point Men’s Shed with its First Aid and Safety Equipment project and looks forward to the equipment being of ongoing benefit to its members.
