New Bus for Nowra Anglican College

Jun 11, 2014 by

nowraA grant from Veolia Mulwaree Trust of $15000 has assisted the Nowra Anglican College to purchase a 24 seater bus for use by the school and local community groups.

Nowra Anglican College provided funds towards the cost of the bus but it was the amazing efforts by the College’s Parent’s and Friends Association that saw the purchase of the bus become a reality.  In addition to successfully obtaining a Veolia Mulwaree Trust grant toward the project, the College P & F tirelessly fundraised their own substantial contribution. “We have cooked a lot of sausages over the past year” said P & F President, Mrs Fiona Schreurs.

“The bus will significantly benefit the students and their families in substantially reducing the cost of excursions, events and sporting activities thus improving affordability for families. We are so grateful to the Veolia Mulwaree Trust for acknowledging our hard work by providing grant funds towards the purchase of the bus”. Mrs Schreurs added.

Nowra Anglican College Business Manager, Ms Leisa Ebdon said “the fund-raising efforts over the past year have been a lift for the school, the students are ‘jumping for joy’ over the school’s new bus”.

The school hadn’t had the bus for long before it was put to use – its first trip was to the beach with a load of students doing surfing for sport.

The Veolia Mulwaree Trust is proud to assist the Nowra Anglican College with this valuable project and looks forward to the bus being of ongoing benefit to the students and local community.
