Photo 3A Veolia Mulwaree Trust grant of $33,000 has enabled Bundanoon Public School to create a much needed, all-weather soccer field for use by students and the community.

Giselle McGill, relieving principal said, “the amazing generosity of the Veolia Mulwaree Trust has enabled our school and its community to access a flat, ‘grassed’ playing field in all weather! We even had a Marathon Running clinic use the space, on a rainy day.”

The upgrading of the field was a high priority project for Bundanoon Public School, which contributed their own funds of $7,337 towards the project, in addition to a P & C Association contribution of $7,000.

The previous space was worn out and grassless and became uneven and muddy in damp weather. The new all-weather, flat surface allows a wide range of activities including tennis and handball and the children are inspired to use the area, which means more healthy play.

Since its completion the soccer field has been used on a daily basis by the school students. It has also been used after hours by community groups for fitness and soccer programs.

In this climate, not only our school, but the whole community has benefitted from this project as we now have a flat, grassed playing area that can sustain a lot of activity the whole year through.

The Veolia Mulwaree Trust is proud to assist Bundanoon Public School with this valuable project and looks forward to the all-weather soccer field being of great benefit to the school and community for many years to come.
