The project was a collaboration of six Braidwood sporting groups which included the Braidwood Rodeo Inc Association, Braidwood Team Sorting group, Braidwood Pony Club, Braidwood Campdraft Association, Braidwood Show Society and the Braidwood Polocrosse Club, which all combined their efforts to raise a total of $22,800 towards the project.

Joan Webb, secretary of the Braidwood Showground 355 Committee said, “the committees and volunteers held successful working bees to place the arena on the Braidwood Showground in a temporary position for user groups to trial. It is great to see that since then, the arena and yards have been in constant use. There has been an increase in Showground bookings. Activities range from polocrosse education for beginners, rodeo events, teamsorting and the Braidwood Pony Club have been able to host the zone camp week and jambaroo. Viability of the Showground is now more secure, as there is now a safer environment for the horses, stock, participants and spectators for a wide variety events”.

The Veolia Mulwaree Trust is proud to assist the Braidwood Showground 355 Committee with purchasing the portable arena and yards and is pleased that the facility will benefit of a wide variety of groups and the Braidwood Community for many years to come.
