A presentation event took place at the Goulburn campus on Thursday, 6th October.

Alanna Lee Long, Karen Granger, Julieanne Natoli and William Doherty each received $1,500 to assist them with their studies at TAFE.

Ms Long will use her scholarship to complete her Certificate IV in Tertiary Preparation to enable her to attend university next year to study primary school teaching.

Ms Granger plans to build her skills in web design to enable her to assist regional families who want to open businesses online.

Ms Natoli was surprised and excited as the scholarship meant she would not have to worry about the financial burden of completing her Certificate III in Business Studies

William Doherty, who was unable to attend the presentation event, will utilise the scholarship funds to complete his Certificate IV in Tertiary Preparation Course at the Moss Vale TAFE campus.

Trustee, John Reynolds attended the event to present the recipients with their Veolia Mulwaree Trust scholarship awards. John was presented with a certificate of appreciation by TAFE Illawarra’s district operations manager David Guthrey, who congratulated the students and commended their community efforts.

“The Veolia Mulwaree Trust scholarships are very important in assisting local students to achieve their vocational training goals,” Mr Guthrey said. “For people looking to come to TAFE or apply for the scholarships, I would encourage them to do so.”

The Veolia Mulwaree Trust congratulates the TAFE scholarship recipients for 2016 and looks forward to partnering with TAFE Illawarra Institute again in 2017.
