Successful Grant and Donation Recipients Announced in Latest Round of Community Funding
With a total of $518,782 in funds distributed by the Veolia Mulwaree Trust in the last round of funding, sixteen community groups were invited to attend a cheque presentation event held at the Goulburn Worker’s Club on Thursday 24th November. Guest presenter, Veolia Environmental Services Woodlawn facility manager, Mr Henry Gundry is pictured presenting representatives from Mount Hunter Public School with their cheque at Thursday’s event. Successful recipients who attended are as follows:
Braidwood National Theatre (BNTCC) and Community Centre s355 Committee received a grant of $50,000 to upgrade the historic Braidwood National Theatre building which is used as a Community Centre.
Lions Club of Marulan and District will utilise a grant of $10,184 to install outdoor fitness equipment at the town’s Meridian Park.
Bungendore Carriage Driving Club received $2,293 towards the purchase of a new PA system for use at club events.
Upper Lachlan Shire Council were pleased to receive a grant of $96,612 towards the construction of a new skate park in Crookwell.
Goulburn Region Woodworkers will utilise a grant of $11,059 to build a much needed storage shed for extra space.
Buxton Public School will benefit from a $13,500 grant to enable them to install air conditioning units in classrooms.
Shoalhaven City Council received a grant of $25,000 to install outdoor exercise equipment in park area at Plantation Point.
Oberon Council will install water bottle refill stations across Oberon parks and sports grounds thanks to a grant of $7,391.
Southern Highlands Sailing Club received a grant of $8,490 to purchase a new outboard motor for the club’s fleet assistance vessel.
Murramarang Men’s Shed were pleased to accept a grant of $30,000 towards the construction of their new men’s shed.
Mount Hunter Public School will utilise a grant of $1,526 towards the purchase a portable PA sound system for school events.
Upper Lachlan Shire Council’s Collector Oval Committee received a grant of $9,000 to assist them with the installation of a new synthetic grass pitch at Collector Oval.
Wingecarribee Shire Council’s Exeter Park Management Committee will use a grant of $10,000 to install a new audio system in Exeter Hall.
Mulwaree Anglican Missions District received a grant of $13,000 to assist with upgrades to the Lake Bathurst Churchyard grounds.
Tarago and District Progress Association will utilise a grant of $69,875 to undertake upgrades to the Tarago Hall which include the installation of a disabled toilet and safety ramp, enclosing an open walkway and upgrading fire doors.
Tarago Sporting Association received a grant of $134,303 to resurface the Tarago Tennis Courts and create a multi purpose sports court for use by the Tarago and district community.
The following 27 organisations were successful in receiving donations in the latest funding round.
Goulburn Pistol Club received a donation of $1,000 towards the installation of LED lighting in the air pistol shooting facility.
Binda Public School will put a donation of $1,000 towards the hire of a bus to transport students to swimming lessons in February 2017.
A donation of $1,000 will enable Upper Shoalhaven Landcare Council to print resource booklets of information for distribution to the community.
Central Catering Volunteer Brigade will utilise a $1,000 donation to concrete and fence an area to connect a storage container to their existing shed.
A donation of $750 will assist Goulburn East Public School P & C to create a school cookbook to raise funds for future school projects.
Penrose Rural Fire Brigade will use a donation of $899 to buy a new generator with sufficient capacity to manage the Driver Reviver station run by the Brigade.
Community Links Wollondilly received $1,000 towards the promotion and celebration of International Women’s Day on 8th March 2017.
Wollondilly Netball Association will utilise a donation of $1,000 to upgrade the junior representative team’s gear bags, first aid kits and sun shades for the season.
A donation of $1,000 will enable Paws Pet Therapy Paws ‘n’ Tales reading program to continue at the Goulburn Library as well as in local schools.
A Taste of Paradise Organic Farm will continue to run support programs for disadvantaged children thanks to a donation of $1,000.
Rotary Club of Sussex Inlet received a donation of $1,000 to purchase a new marquee shelter for use at fundraising and community events.
Bay & Basin Amateur Swim Club welcomed a donation of $1,000 to purchase an outdoor gazebo for club members to take to carnivals.
Ulladulla United Cricket Club will use their donation of $1,000 to buy new team cricket kits and equipment for their junior teams.
Crookwell Potato Festival Committee will produce street banners to promote the annual Crookwell Potato Festival with the assistance of a $1,000 donation.
Goulburn Community Health Centre received $1,000 towards the purchase of tables and chairs, including two specific children’s chairs for use in their therapeutic intervention room.
Goulburn Mulwaree Council’s Goulburn Leisure Link will utilise a donation of $1,000 to help celebrate International Day of People with disAbility on 3rd December 2016.
A donation of $1,000 will assist St Vincent de Paul Society of Goulburn to continue to provide food items, pharmacy assistance and travel assistance for emergency medical appointments to needy residents of the Goulburn Mulwaree area.
Zonta Club of Goulburn received $900 to purchase materials for the Club’s ‘birthing kits’ project which enables members and volunteers to assemble birthing packs to be sent to needy communities overseas.
Harpers Mansion National Trust were pleased to receive a donation of $1,000 towards the production of brochures providing details of the property for visitors and students information.
Wingecarribee Food Services will utilise a donation of $1,000 to continue their work in delivering nutritious meals to frail aged clients.
A donation of $1,000 will assist Highlands Community Centre to promote the Southern Highlands Domestic Violence forum and White Ribbon March.
St Bede’s Primary School received $1,000 towards establishing a breakfast program for the daily benefit of students.
Connect Christian Church will put their donation of $1,000 towards the cost of providing sound and lighting at this year’s Moss Vale Community Christmas Carols event.
A donation of $1,000 will be used by Collector Village Pumpkin Festival Committee to install three lockable, shatter resistant noticeboards around the village of Collector.
The Robertson Community Technology Centre received $1,000 towards the purchase of new chairs and block-out curtains for use at the Centre.
Marulan Country Women’s Association will utilise a donation of $1,000 to install three new storage cupboards in their kitchen area.
Goulburn Teapot Club received a donation of $1,000 towards the cost of staging their 2017 Autism Conference which will be attended by guest speaker Dr Tony Attwood.
