Collector Oval Committee have utilised a Veolia Mulwaree Trust grant of $9,000 to install a new synthetic cricket pitch at Collector Oval.

The new cricket pitch has replaced an old, narrow concrete pitch that had cracked with age. The new synthetic pitch complements works already carried out on the oval which include a pavilion upgrade and a full oval resurface. The addition of the new cricket pitch will allow social and competition games to be booked from within and outside the area, bringing enjoyment and income to the Collector community.

The Collector Oval Committee obtained support for the project from an active Collector community group known as the Pot Black Club who raised $5,000 towards the cricket pitch. The Veolia Mulwaree Trust was pleased to commit the remaining funds required to complete the project.

John Hoskins, president of Collector Oval Committee said “we have had many positive comments about the bounce and performance of the upgraded pitch and know it will be a wonderful community facility well into the future for Collector.”

The Veolia Mulwaree Trust is proud to support Collector Oval Committee and wishes their members and the wider community many years of enjoyment from the new synthetic cricket pitch.
