Tallong Public School enclose their COLA thanks to Veolia Mulwaree Trust Grant

Tallong Public School have utilised a grant of $28,942 from the Veolia Mulwaree Trust to enclose the COLA (Covered Outdoor Learning Area) at their school.

Although the existing COLA was well used by the school of 58 students, it was open sided which meant it became uncomfortable during cold, wet or windy weather. The project sought to enclose, and weather proof three sides of the existing COLA with electric shutters that would allow the sides to be opened during pleasant weather.

Tallong Public School P & C fundraised $9,500 to put towards the much needed project and were thrilled when the Veolia Mulwaree Trust agreed to provide the remaining funds required to ensure the project was completed.

P & C committee member, Christine Wursten said, “enclosing the COLA has provided Tallong Public School with an excellent all-weather, multi-purpose area which is used everyday by students and staff as well as volunteers and the wider community. We honestly don’t know how the school ever operated without this wonderful addition and feel very lucky to have this new area for work and play.”

The Veolia Mulwaree Trust is very proud to support Tallong Public School with this valuable project and wishes its students, staff and the wider Tallong community many years of comfortable use from the newly enclosed COLA.
