Wingecarribee Reconciliation Group utilise donation towards Annual Koori Flagraising & Mirror Flash

Wingecarribee Reconciliation Group utilised a donation of $1,000 from the Veolia Mulwaree Trust to support the Annual Koori Flagraising and Mirror Flash to the Blue Mountains as an acknowledgment of the land between Mittagong and the Blue Mountains being the traditional country of the Gundungurra people.

Kim Leevers, chairperson of the Wingecarribee Reconciliation Group said, “More than 100 people of all ages enjoyed a beautiful sunny Southern Highland’s autumn afternoon in Gibbergunyah Reserve in Bowral to celebrate the 15th Annual Koori Flagraising and Mirror Flash to the Blue Mountains on 8th April. The overall purpose of the ceremony is to foster understanding and respect for Aboriginal culture and to encourage reconciliation.”

The Veolia Mulwaree Trust is very proud to assist Wingecarribee Reconciliation Group hold the 15th Annual Koori Flagraising and Mirror Flash to the Blue Mountains and is pleased to hear that the event was a great success and enjoyed by many.
